The Drop-in Mindfulness Maintenance class will change into a “Mindfulness Matters” drop in class starting January 2017.
There will initially be 4 “Chapters” of “Mindfulness Matters” in Ontario.
Chapter 1 will be hosted from Noelville, Haliburton and Victoria Park Scarborough, by a facilitator at each site in rotation and will link with another 3 sites via telemedicine including . Aurora, Bracebridge and Elliot Lake via telemedicine Each site will have scripts of themes and guidelines provided by NNC, to be explored through formal practice and discussion. Cost will be $2 per class but is free to those who cannot pay. Classes will run on Thursdays from 3.30 to 4.30 pm.
Chapter 2 will be hosted from Orillia and connect with, Brampton, Orangeville and Port Hope via telemedicine. This class will be participant-run with the assistance of capable MBCPM™ alumni volunteers and clear guidelines. Each site will have the scripts of themes, provided by NNC, to be explored through formal practice and discussion each week. Cost will be $2 per class but is free to those who cannot pay. Classes will run on Thursdays from 1.30 to 2.45 pm.
Chapter 3 will be an onsite Self-Management group in Kingston, volunteer-coordinated, and participant-run, again with clear guidelines and the theme scripts.
Chapter 4: will be an on site group in Thunder Bay, facilitator lead, using the same scripts of themes
Who Can Attend
The class is open to alumni of MBCPM™ programmes. Anyone who has done a mindfulness programme elsewhere may also apply with a physician’s referral.
