Mindfulness for Health Care Professionals is the MBCPM™ course offered where participants learn the principles of Mindfulness meditation and how these relate to stress, chronic disease and chronic pain. This course is almost identical to the patient course as the principles are the same whether suffering from pain, mental pain, stress and burnout, or — mindlessness! It offers excellent insight into the suffering of clients with chronic pain, as well as helping the many health care professionals who also have chronic pain.
We currently offer this course to health care professionals in the 4 day format mixed in with patient participants in the Practical Training Immersion (PTI) courses (2 x year), or as a weekly, in person, MBCPM™ course for professionals run once a year from end of March, in our collaboration with University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies: link below. We can also offer this course to groups of health care practitioners from specific facilities on request, fees to be determined, either in person or as an online offering. Course materials include the course book, “The Mindfulness Solution to Pain”, the 6 course meditation CDs or downloads, and the MBCPM™ Basic and Advanced Review Workbook. The course may carry Cert + credits for MDs (Check with NNC) and a letter of course completion for non-MDs.
